That's this Friday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lone Pine trailhead on Keystone Road in Traverse City. We're partnering with the Grand Traverse Conservation District again to plant more trees along the Boardman River bottomlands. You bring the work gloves, work boots and a shovel, and we'll bring the pizza! There's no need to RSVP~simply show up. <br>

Funding for this tree planting project is generously provided by the Oleson Foundation. <br>

Our research found that the Grand Traverse Bay watershed lost more than 4,000 acres of tree cover between 2001 and 2009. The biggest loss occurred in the Boardman River subwatershed, so this area is high priority for tree plantings.
