--></style><div><div class="yiv1842626018WordSection1"><div class="yiv1842626018MsoNormal">Saturday (9/29/12) – Molon work crews have pretty much dredged all the new river channel they can until the water is lowered through the temporary dewatering structure. They continue to clean out the sand traps on a daily basis, shape the new flood plain and spoil areas but until the water is lowered they’re pretty much done dredging. Molon brought in the fifth and largest (20,000 lb) pile driver last week from Indiana and successfully drove the last sheets to their designed depth on Thursday. Friday and Saturday were spent digging out the temporary structure. They hope to pour concrete on Monday, place large boulders in the lower section of the channel where it meets the river on Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time they will also place 12”x12” stop logs in the channel iron. These stop logs will allow
Molon to lower the pond the remaining 18 feet at a rate no greater than 12” per day (hopefully) beginning Thursday (10/4). This is when we’ll see great changes in the new river section as the speed of the river will increase as the pond is lowered. </div><div class="yiv1842626018MsoNormal"> </div><div class="yiv1842626018MsoNormal">I forgot to report last time that Brett Fessell and a GTB crew rescued 10 brown trout and 9 brook trout plus an assortment of minnows from an abandoned section river.
