Sept 27th at 9:00am, we have decided to have a "Kickoff Event" that
will include 6 homeless volunteers and 6 mentors from the Goodwill
Outreach program. Also present will be volunteers from the Boardman
River Clean Sweep and the Traverse Area Paddle Club.<br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">These people will do a final season-end cleanup of the river and the river banks of the downtown section of the Boardman River.<br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">There will be an appreciation picnic following the event.<br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">After
these events, weekly shoreline cleanups will be continued during the
early Fall and beginning again in the early Spring on a smaller scale
using the help of a few volunteers from the Homeless Outreach programs. <br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">These
events will be funded by a generous donation from the National Cherry
Festival to the Boardman River Clean Sweep organization. <br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">When the regular downtown BRCS events occur in 2015, the Outreach volunteers will be invited to attend.<br style="" class=""><br style="" class="">We
are all very excited to be part of this beginning event that will
enhance and improve the appearance and quality of the the downtown
