[brcs-announce] Combined effort to cleanup the downtown section of the Boardman

[Boardman River Clean Sweep Announcements]

Today I met with the representatives of the Goodwill Homeless Outreach programs.

On
 Sept 27th at 9:00am, we have decided to have a "Kickoff Event" that 
will include 6 homeless volunteers and 6 mentors from the Goodwill 
Outreach program.   Also present will be volunteers from the Boardman 
River Clean Sweep and the Traverse Area Paddle Club.

These people will do a final season-end cleanup of the river and the river banks of the downtown section of the Boardman River.

There will be an appreciation picnic following the event.

After
 these events, weekly shoreline cleanups will be continued during the 
early Fall and beginning again in the early Spring on a smaller scale 
using the help of a few volunteers from the Homeless Outreach programs. 

These
 events will be funded by a generous donation from the National Cherry 
Festival to the Boardman River Clean Sweep organization. 

When the regular downtown BRCS events occur in 2015, the Outreach volunteers will be invited to attend.

We
 are all very excited to be part of this beginning event that will 
enhance and improve the appearance and quality of the the downtown 
sections of our beautiful Boardman River.
