Hi! You're getting this because you confirmed that you're coming to
Sketching in Hardware in The Dock in Dublin, Ireland, September 30-October
2. Welcome!

If you did not get Update #1, please let us know. It has additional
important information.

  - Participant questionnaire!
  - Our welcome/information packet
  - The event schedule + presentation topics
  - Do you know Dubliners who would perfect for Sketching?
  - Bring technology for Science Fair!

THANK YOU, SKETCHING ADVISORY COUNCIL!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This year, for the first time, I asked some longtime participants to join
me and Leah in monthly meetings to serve as a sounding board as we
navigated our first post-pandemic international event.

THANK YOU David, Kipp, Kate, Noah, Nadya, and Steve! Your advice,
questions, introductions and suggestions have been instrumental in helping
us make this event happen.

PARTICIPANT QUESTIONNAIRE
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
To help us plan the logistics of the event such as childcare and food
sensitivities we need to know some things from you. If you have not filled
out the participant questionnaire, please do so. It really helps us
organize the event.

Here is that Google form: https://tinyurl.com/sketching22-questionnaire

It should take about 7-10min.

WELCOME PACKET
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Leah has summarized a bunch of key logistics information about the event
in a Welcome Packet. It includes very important information about where
everything is, our COVID protocols (please read them!), and our Code of
Conduct.

EVENT SCHEDULE AND PRESENTATION TOPICS
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We have put together a preliminary presentation schedule, linked below.

In addition lease review the schedule:
- Check what day and time you are scheduled to speak.
- Add/edit your presentation topic title (you have edit permission).
- Feel free to link your name to a personal URL or something about
yourself, but don’t feel obligated.
  - If you have any concerns on your timeslot, please let us know so we can
plan/adjust accordingly.

Please do not share the schedule URL.

If you would rather not present your work as an 18 minute (or shorter!)
talk, let us know. Would you like to team up with someone and present
together? Would you like to lead a discussion? Show a demo? We're open to
all kinds of ways that everyone can get to know everyone else, but we need
something.

DO YOU KNOW DUBLINERS (AND OTHER LOCALS) WHO WOULD BE PERFECT FOR
SKETCHING?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We still have some open slots for Sketching, and we only have a couple of
people who are local to Dublin, so if you know of someone from the area or
who can make plans to come to Dublin on short notice, and who you think
would be perfect for Sketching (even if you have not yet been to Sketching
yourself), please let me know and we'll try to invite them to the event.

SCIENCE FAIR (IS BACK!)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
It's difficult to talk about hardware without touching it, and it's
difficult to sit for 3 days just listening to each other, so this year
we're bringing back "Science Fair". We will (very rapidly) turn our
lecture area into a trade-show style demo area.

Anyone who has a thing to show (of any sort) can show that thing during
Science Fair and have a conversation with everyone else about it.

Please bring stuff to show at Science Fair! It can be something that you
built, or something that you're in the process of building, or something
rare and amazing that the rest of us should see, even if you didn't make
it.

Thank you! We're very excited to see you in less than TWO WEEKS!
